Ticket X-Ray
Turn a messy technical ticket into a clear troubleshooting path.
Find the next test, record what happened and leave a useful handoff.
Try the interactive fictional case → No submission or AI call needed.
Reusable ticket-note template · no AI
Copy this into your existing ticket system. Replace the placeholders with sanitized observations; it does not confirm a diagnosis or resolution.
ISSUE / IMPACT [What is failing, who or what is affected, and the task they need to complete] OBSERVED EVIDENCE [What you directly observed; separate facts from assumptions] TEST → ACTUAL RESULT [Test performed] → [Actual result, including unsuccessful tests] CHANGE / NO CHANGE [Action actually taken, or "No change made"; approval and rollback where relevant] UNKNOWN / BLOCKER [What remains unverified or prevents the next step] NEXT ACTION / RESPONSIBLE ROLE [Next test or action] — [Responsible role] RESOLUTION VERIFICATION (IF CLOSING) [Evidence that the affected user's original task works again, or "Not yet verified"]
See the fictional troubleshooting case, or use “Write a handoff without AI” below to record your own work locally.
Already troubleshooting? Record tests, results and the next owner yourself. No AI submission or verification required.
Save or reopen your work
No autosave. Save an editable file containing your ticket, working notes and AI draft if present before leaving. Opening it reads the file locally; it does not upload it or run another analysis. Files up to 512 KiB. Keep the file private, especially on shared devices.
Analysis
Review this AI-generated draft before use. Confirm the resolution and the affected user's original task before closing the ticket.
No AI analysis included. Record what you actually tried and what happened. Your ticket above becomes the context in this handoff; review all text before sharing. Nothing here confirms a resolution automatically.
Turn direction into a working record. Keep what you observe separate from what the AI suggests.
Review export before sharing

Working record · your observations and actions
Use sanitized notes only. These fields stay in this tab and are not sent to OpenAI. Use “Save or reopen your work” for an editable local file, or export a handoff to share. Refreshing loses unsaved work.
The test you actually ran, its outcome and the evidence. Distinguish observations from untested ideas.
Actions actually taken, approval and rollback details where relevant. Record “No change made” when appropriate.
Evidence supporting the resolution and whether the affected user's original task works again. Be explicit about checks still outstanding.
Next action, responsible role and any blocker. Use roles rather than personal or client identifiers.
Each field allows 4,000 characters. A filled-in record is not proof of resolution.
Take a proposed change into Change Plan
When the evidence supports a change, describe the proposal in “What happens next?” above. Prepare a draft with that next step and, when present, labelled, unverified AI context. Scope, approval, recovery and validation still need your input.
Review exactly what will be included. The original ticket and other working notes are excluded.
Then open Change Plan in a new tab and choose “Open draft.” Nothing transfers until you select the downloaded file.
